Our cause is right and just. It is honoring to God. I am sure you have heard the expression, “Somebody ought to do something about that!” Well, that is who we are. AFA is one of a handful of groups actually fighting back against the secularists and the humanists in an organized fashion and making a real difference.

AFA continues to stand up for traditional values – Christian values – that have served our country so well for so long but have been under siege by the secular liberals who want to radically change America. Here are just a few examples of the battles we fought in March:

• Took issue with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for caving into abortion activist groups and removing a Focus on the Family ad from its website. The ad featured a father and son, with the message “Celebrate Family. Celebrate Life.”
• Alerted you when Andrews Air Force Base Commander, Colonel Steven M. Shepro, cancelled an invitation for Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins to speak at a scheduled National Prayer Luncheon because of Perkins’ opposition to allowing homosexuals to serve in the military.
• AFA co-hosted a live video webcast entitled “National Townhall on Health Care: Stop the Government Takeover.”
• Your AFA made it easy for you to contact your U.S. representative in opposing Obamacare with specifically-targeted emails to over 60 individual congressional districts.
• We encouraged you to contact your state’s governor and attorney general, asking them to file a lawsuit against the federal government in opposition to the passage of president Obama’s version of the national healthcare bill.

I just read this and was sickened by it. While it is very encouraging to see a GOP Senator in Massachusetts, I find it a tough pill to swallow when Republicans support abortion. I have always considered myself a fiscal moderate and socially conservative. According to his comments below, we are nearly opposites. I will be removing the link I have to his site immediately.

Congress voted to cut off funding to ACORN last week after videos surfaced showing employees at several ACORN offices across the country offering tax help to a couple posing as a pimp and a prostitute who wanted to obtain an illegal housing loan for their brothel. In addition, the Internal Revenue Service yesterday severed ties with the group over the scandal.

Many of us are just relieved that Congress (thanks to the GOP) finally woke up and quit brushing this under the table. Hopefully our country has learned something from this!

Barack Obama Experiment

President Obama has been in office now for 200 days, and the second hundred days of his administration have been worse than the first. The $787 billion stimulus experiment he rushed through Congress still isn’t creating jobs. The job-killing national energy tax he rushed through the House is threatening families and small businesses with higher energy bills. And now he wants to rush through Congress a $1.6 trillion government-run health care experiment that will make health care more expensive, add to the deficit and cause tens of millions of Americans to lose their current health insurance and doctors. President Obama has done all of this in just 200 days – and there are still 1,260 days left in his term. America can’t take any more of President Obama’s experiments.

I am also really pleased that you have recently included an article about Michele Bachmann, one of the truly great republican politicians of our time. I have heard congresswoman Bachmann speak and this lady has what it takes to make a huge political strides. Many hope she might one day be president. I know I do.

Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government’s coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.

It’s outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading “home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children.” The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, “well-trained and competent staff,” would “provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains … modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices,” and “skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development.”

That will be Great! We can have the government help us raise our kids, tell us what we should do instead of spanking them, advise us on how to feed them and take them to a better place if needed. Best of all,it will most likely be some college graduate with no kids getting paid $25K per year who will make those decisions.

C’mon fellow republicans! Let’s do something about all this maddness! Call you GOP leaders and let them know you are pulling for them and that you stand behind them in their conservative family values. Better yet, contact the “non-conservative” minded politicians and let them know exactly how you feel.
